Winter Reading Program

Find a cozy spot, snuggle up and read with your child. The Buchanan County Public Library winter reading program has a twofold purpose, to instill the love of reading in your child by encouraging shared interactions with books and to educate parents and caregivers on the ways they can advance their children's early literacy development.  This program has four levels.  To reach a level, your child must earn 200 points.  Earn a total of 800 points to complete the program.  These points can be earned through reading-every minute equals a point-or through a combination of reading, attending programs, and doing special activities.  Each program or activity completed is worth 10 points and a digital badge.  Pre schoolers will receive stickers, bookmarks, rubber ducks, and bubbles for prizes.

The Snuggle Up with a Book winter reading program begins on Wednesday February 1, 2017 and ends Wednesday March 1, 2017.
Registration will open on Monday January 23, 2017.
